St Malo, France
Saint-Malo, in Ille-et-Vilaine, is a historic port whose walled city, Intra-Muros, stands on a former granite island. Home of privateers such as Surcouf and of the explorer Jacques Cartier, it is surrounded by ramparts overlooking beaches and forts reachable at low tide. Photos taken in 2010 and 2020.
