Nîmes, France
Nîmes, prefecture of the Gard, is often called "the most Roman city outside Italy". Its amphitheatre, one of the best preserved in the Roman world, and the Maison Carrée, a perfectly preserved Roman temple listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stand in the heart of the city. Photos taken in 2001, 2017, 2018 and 2021.
