Shangri La, China
Shangri-La, formerly Zhongdian, is a city in north-western Yunnan and capital of the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, renamed after the mythical land of the 1933 novel Lost Horizon. At over 3,000 m altitude, it is known for its Tibetan old town and the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery. This gallery was photographed in 2026.
