Sala di Ester – Palazzo Vecchio, Florence

The dining room of Eleonora of Toledo takes its name from the story of the biblical queen Esther painted in the gilded ceiling, with a banquet scene under a classical arcade and a frieze of putti. Stradano decorated it in 1561–1562; the room also keeps a fifteenth-century marble washbasin.
