The Adriatic Sea separates Italy, from Friuli and Romagna to the Abruzzi, from the Balkan coast of «La Schiavonia», with Austria and Germany to the north. It belongs to the 53 maps painted on the cupboard doors of the Medici wardrobe for Cosimo I, by the cosmographer Egnazio Danti from 1563 and by Stefano Bonsignori after 1575.
