«La Francia» is crossed by a dense network of rivers, between the «Grand Mer Oceane», part of England and Greater Germany. It belongs to the 53 maps painted on the cupboard doors of the Medici wardrobe for Cosimo I, by the cosmographer Egnazio Danti from 1563 and by Stefano Bonsignori after 1575.
