In the octagon of the ceiling, the young Florentine Gualdrada refuses the kiss of Emperor Otto IV, who had asked for it in admiration of her beauty, before her father and the courtiers. Jan van der Straet, known as Stradano, painted this example of modesty in 1561–1562 for the last room of the apartment of Eleonora of Toledo, surrounded by panels of putti.
