Amid grotesques and a Greek-key border, a double-headed eagle holds the united coats of arms of the Medici, with their balls, and of the Toledo family, with its blue and white checks. These arms mark the apartment of Eleonora of Toledo, the Spanish wife of Cosimo I, decorated in the 1550s and 1560s.
