Salone dei Cinquecento Seen from the Gallery – Palazzo Vecchio, Florence

From the gallery running high along the end wall, the view embraces the whole Salone dei Cinquecento, with the Udienza at the far end, Vasari's six battle frescoes and the gilded coffered ceiling. This vantage point, reached from the second-floor apartments, shows the scale of the hall built in 1494 and enlarged by Vasari for Cosimo I.
