The Hall of Lilies owes its name to the gold fleurs-de-lis, symbol of Florence and of its alliance with France, covering its blue walls, beneath a gilded coffered ceiling; Domenico Ghirlandaio's fresco of St Zenobius and Roman heroes decorates one wall. Donatello's Judith and Holofernes is kept here, and a gilded heraldic lion stands on a marble bracket.
