The Jesuit missionary Francis Xavier gazes in ecstasy at the Virgin and Child appearing in a glow of light, his face lit as if by a candle. Painted around 1622–1629 by the Flemish Caravaggist Gerard Seghers of Antwerp, it belongs to the Galleria Regionale della Sicilia.
