Red Flowers – O'Tama Kiyohara – Palazzo dei Normanni, Palermo

Red peony buds and a half-open flower (Paeonia mascula) grow among deep green leaves in this watercolour on paper. It is one of the works of the Japanese painter O'Tama Kiyohara (1861–1939), wife of the Palermo sculptor Vincenzo Ragusa, shown at the Royal Palace in 2020 from the Palermo museum named after the couple.
