The closed bud of a sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) on its stalk is outlined in pencil, a study for a painting. It is one of the works of the Japanese painter O'Tama Kiyohara (1861–1939), wife of the Palermo sculptor Vincenzo Ragusa, shown at the Royal Palace in 2020 from the Palermo museum named after the couple.
