King Charles VIII of France rides at the head of a long procession through a crowd of Florentines towards the Medici palace on Via Larga, on 17 November 1494, after the expulsion of the Medici. Painted around 1517 by Francesco Granacci as a decorative panel, it offers a precious view of Renaissance Florence.
