Charity, dressed in red, nurses a child and holds a blazing flame, her two traditional attributes. Dated 1469, she was the first Virtue painted by Piero del Pollaiolo for the audience hall of the Tribunale di Mercanzia; the cycle came to the Uffizi in 1777.
