The carved and gilded ceiling is made of hexagonal coffers with rosettes and gold fleurs-de-lis on a light blue ground, surrounded by a frieze. Giuliano da Maiano and his workshop made it in the 1470s, at the same time as the ceiling of the neighbouring Sala delle Udienze.
