The goddess of love, nude, modestly covers herself as she rises from the bath, a dolphin at her side. This marble of the 1st century BC, after a Greek model in the tradition of Praxiteles, was brought from the Villa Medici in Rome in 1677 and became the most admired statue of the Grand Tour.
