The vault of the octagonal Hall of the Muses is painted with Apollo, the Muses and the great poets of antiquity gathered on Parnassus, framed by illusionistic architecture and meander borders. Tommaso Conca painted it in 1782–1787 for Pope Pius VI in the Pio-Clementino Museum.
