St. Sophia, Kyiv, Ukraine

Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, founded in the 11th century under Yaroslav the Wise, holds some of the oldest mosaics and frescoes of Eastern Europe. It was the first site in Ukraine inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Photos taken in 2007.
