The Three Graces – Antonio Canova – Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg

The three daughters of Zeus, Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia, embrace each other in a gentle circle, their bodies carved in smooth white marble. Antonio Canova made this group in 1812–1816; it entered the Hermitage in 1901 from the collection of the Dukes of Leuchtenberg.
