A colossal bowl carved from a single block of green wavy jasper, weighing about 19 tonnes, on a pedestal of the same stone. Made in 1829–1843 at the Kolyvan lapidary works in the Altai and brought to Saint Petersburg, it was installed before the walls of the New Hermitage were completed around it.
