Khao Lak, Thailand
Khao Lak, in Phang Nga province on the Andaman Sea, is a coastal area of long beaches backed by jungle-covered hills, a gateway to the Similan Islands. The photos were taken in 2005, a few months after the tsunami of December 2004 that devastated the coast, including Bang Sak beach, Ban Thap Lamu and two hotels.
