Predella panels telling the life of Mary: her Presentation in the Temple on a grand staircase, her marriage to Joseph, and the Nativity with the annunciation to the shepherds. Painted by the Sienese Sano di Pietro, perhaps for the chapel of the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, they are in the Vatican Pinacoteca.
