Stories of Saint Nicholas – Ambrogio Lorenzetti – Uffizi Gallery, Florence

Two small panels telling the life of Saint Nicholas: the dowry thrown to three poor girls, his election as bishop of Myra, a child brought back to life and Myra saved from famine. Painted by Ambrogio Lorenzetti around 1327–1332 for San Procolo in Florence, they show his precise observation of nature and early perspective.
