On the landings of the staircase, Roman and later marble busts stand on pedestals, a statue fills a shell niche, and a carved sarcophagus front sits beneath a window looking out on the palms. The Corsini displayed these sculptures in the entrance and on the stairs to greet visitors on their way up to the gallery.
