Sibyl (?) – attributed to Niccolò Rondinelli – Uffizi Gallery, Florence

A young woman draped in white and gold stands holding a scroll, a little Maltese dog at her feet, a detail that seems out of place in a sacred image. Painted around 1511 and attributed to Niccolò Rondinelli, a follower of Giovanni Bellini, it was recovered in Germany in 1953 and has been at the Uffizi since 1990.
