Saint Jerome kneels in the desert before a crucifix, beating his chest with a stone, with his lion and a landscape behind him. The Latin inscription records that the fresco was painted in 1490 under the protection of the saint for Giovanni Galeazzo Trotti of Alessandria, podestà of Florence, in the Chapel of the Podestà.
