Saint Jerome, in cardinal's red, sits reading on a classical throne with his lion at his feet, before a wide landscape. Painted by Giovanni Santi of Urbino, father of Raphael, for the church of San Bartolo near Pesaro, it is in the Vatican Pinacoteca.
