Saint James the Great and Saint Mary Magdalen – Antonio Veneziano – Vatican Museums

Two gold-ground panels from the same dismantled polyptych: Saint James with his pilgrim's staff and Mary Magdalen in red holding her ointment jar. They were painted by Antonio Veneziano, active in Tuscany between 1368 and 1388, and are in the Vatican Pinacoteca.
