Kneeling on a rocky slope of Mount La Verna, Saint Francis receives the wounds of Christ from a red seraph, while Brother Leo reads nearby. Painted in the early 16th century by the circle of the Roman painter Antoniazzo Romano, it is in the Vatican Pinacoteca.
