Room of the Corsini Throne – Palazzo Corsini, Rome

In the middle of the room stands the Corsini Throne, a round marble seat carved with bands of reliefs of hunting, warriors and a procession, among walls hung with portraits and religious paintings. Found in the 18th century near San Giovanni in Laterano, this Roman copy of an Etruscan ceremonial chair is one of the most famous ancient pieces of the collection.
