Reconstructed catapult – Les Baux-de-Provence Castle

This wheeled siege engine with a long throwing arm is a full-size replica. Weighing over four tonnes, such a machine could hurl large stones, Greek fire or carrion up to 250 metres, and one was used at Les Baux during the siege against Robert de Duras in 1355.
