Portrait of Charles de Longueval – Rubens – Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg

The Flemish general Charles de Longueval, count of Bucquoy, in armour, appears in an oval surrounded by allegorical figures and trophies, a design for an engraving. Painted by Rubens in 1621, it came to the Hermitage in 1768 from the Cobenzl collection in Brussels.
