Fresco fragments of angels playing the lute, viol and tambourine, cherubs among clouds and apostles looking up, with luminous colours and bold foreshortening. Melozzo da Forlì painted them around 1474 for the Ascension in the apse of the Basilica of Santi Apostoli in Rome; they were detached in the 18th century and are in the Vatican Pinacoteca.
