Moat, bridge and monumental gate – Serrant Castle

A five-arched bridge crosses the water-filled moat to the tall gate, between a slate-roofed pavilion and the corner pavilion in the foreground. The moat survives from the fortress the de Brie family was allowed to fortify in 1481, while the pavilions and gate were added by the Bautru family around 1700.
