Marble Sculptures – Joan Miró – Maeght Foundation, Saint-Paul-de-Vence

Smooth white marble figures stand in the Labyrinth: an egg-shaped head on a rock in a long pool and a bird-like creature with crescent horns in front of the Foundation's brick and concrete facade. Joan Miró carved these forms in Carrara marble in the late 1960s, the purest of the works he placed in his Labyrinth.
