The western Riviera of Liguria, with Monaco, La Turbie and the valleys of the Maritime Alps, unrolls along the sea, where Neptune drives his chariot drawn by sea horses among the waves. The map belongs to the series painted in 1580–1585 from drawings by the cartographer Ignazio Danti.
