Under falling snow, the long rusticated facade of the Königsbau closes the north side of Max-Joseph-Platz, with three arched entrances on the ground floor. Leo von Klenze built this wing for King Ludwig I in 1826–1835, modelling it on the Palazzo Pitti in Florence.
