The painted panel shows the hospital courtyard with its arcaded portico and upper gallery, nuns caring for the sick and carters unloading barrels. The hospital was built in 1583 by Jeanne de Quiquéran, wife of the governor of Les Baux, and took in the sick until the French Revolution.
