The abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, founded in the 10th century on the top of the rock, combines Romanesque and Gothic buildings, including the Merveille, a Gothic ensemble on three levels. It is still a place of worship and is topped by a statue of Saint Michael. Photos taken in 2010.
