Daughter of Niobe – Niobe Room – Uffizi Gallery, Florence

A daughter of Niobe runs forward, her drapery swirling around her, in a vain attempt to escape the divine arrows, as the inscription on its base after Scopas tells. Part of the Roman Niobe group found in Rome in 1583 and brought to Florence in the 1780s.
