A close-up of Christ crowned with thorns, his head bowed under the weight of the cross, set in a carved gilded frame. Painted around 1505 by Giovan Francesco Maineri of Parma, who worked for the Este in Ferrara and made several versions of this subject; it was given to the Uffizi in 1906.
