The chapel of the Podestà, also called the Chapel of Mary Magdalene, is covered with frescoes from the workshop of Giotto, including a Paradise with a portrait of Dante, and furnished with inlaid wooden stalls and a lectern of the late 15th century. The condemned spent their last night here before execution.
