A wide fresco in which the angel Gabriel, still in flight, kneels before Mary across a perspective of rooms opening onto a garden, giving a precious image of a Renaissance noble house. Botticelli painted it in 1481 for a loggia of the orphans' hospital of San Martino alla Scala in Florence, shortly before leaving for Rome.
