From the Residenz, the snowy arches of the Feldherrnhalle with their bronze statues frame Odeonsplatz and the yellow facade and towers of the Theatine Church of Saint Cajetan. Friedrich von Gärtner built the Feldherrnhalle in 1841–1844 after the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence; the church dates from 1663–1690.
