Tomb of Agnès Sorel (detail) – Royal City of Loches

The white alabaster recumbent figure of Agnès Sorel lies on a black marble base, her hands joined, two angels at her head and two lambs at her feet. The official mistress of Charles VII, who died in 1450, was buried in this church; after several moves her tomb returned to this aisle on 2 April 2005.
