The wigmaker – 18th-century engravings – Rundāle Palace, Latvia

These plates of the wigmaker and bath-keeper show wigs on wooden heads, curlers, combs and the frames used to weave hair, with a bathtub scene. Wigs were indispensable at the court of the Dukes of Courland, as everywhere in 18th-century Europe.
