The keep – Castelnaud Castle

The tall square keep, crowned with machicolations and a steep stone-slab roof, rises above the courtyard and the curtain walls, flanked by a small turret. Built in the 13th century across the spur to protect the entrance, it received its machicolations at the beginning of the 14th century.
