Siege engines on the terrace – Castelnaud Castle

Full-size reconstructions of medieval siege engines, with wooden frames, long throwing arms and slings, stand on the terrace at the end of the spur, near the keep. Castelnaud displays a trebuchet, a mangonel, a perrier, a bricole and a couillard, reconstructed to show how stone-throwing machines besieged castles.
