Room with Rulers' Portraits – Rundāle Palace, Latvia

Salmon-pink damask walls carry portraits of rulers linked with the history of Courland, above French furniture, a gilded console with a bouquet and an original 18th-century corner stove, here under restoration. Among the sitters are the Russian emperors and empresses, the Kings of Prussia and Poland and the Biron dukes and duchesses.
